A Message from the President
As we approach the 2017 Langley Good Times Cruise-In we all agree that this has been the most challenging year we have ever seen. We started our year with a disagreement with the City of Langley who insisted the Cruise-In pay 20,000 for police for the night before our event. The Cruise-In board were unanimous in their decision that it is unheard of that any event would have to pay for police the day before their event, and we decided to cut our ties with the City. We were then approached by the Township of Langley who was interested in having our show move to Aldergrove.
We took our concerns to social media and the response was overwhelming, all though people did not want the show to leave the location we have been for the last 20 years they also felt it was unfair that we should have to take 1/3 of the money raised for our local charities to pay such a cost and they would rather see us move than shut down. After a very close inspection of the Aldergrove site and meeting with the merchants and citizens, we decided to make the move.
I have to say the Cruise-In board had no idea how big a job it is to move a car show of this size!
We have spent 100's of hours working out the logistics for our show and I would like to
sincerely thank everyone who has volunteered all their time.
The Langley Good Times Cruise-In is not a business, we are all volunteers and all of our net
proceeds go to local charities and we are all proud of this!
The future of the Langley Good Times Cruise-In will depend on the outcome of this 2017 show
and we are counting on everyone's support.
In closing, the Cruise-In volunteers are ready and we're excited! We really would like to say a
huge thank you to the volunteers, sponsors, the Township of Langley, the merchants and citizens of Aldergrove and most importantly the car community who bring their amazing vehicles out for all to enjoy.
